Delphi XE2 IDE hangs editing (BDE migrated) components

Post by wvisser » Wed 11 Jan 2012 15:26

Hello,

I am evaluating IDBAC components on a project migrated from BDE. So all works well. The only thricky thing is on many occasions if the IBDAC table and connection component properties are not yet properly configured (for example if the logon prompt option is not deactivated) the IDE hangs. It is as if IBDAC tries to pop-up a dialog or message which I cannot see, or fails to show it (initially I saw empty logon dialogs for example, until I specified the logon dialog property).
Very annoying to all the time this happens I have to kill the IDE and restart.

Is thie problem known? Or is there a simple setting to get around this?
Is it maybe due to 3rd party tools I use (GEexperts)?

thanks, Wilfried

I have the same problem - with or without login-promt enabled. I've gone back to version 4.02 which is working, so I can develop my application.

4.1.3 and 4.1.4 is NOT working correct and hanging as soon as I try to change settings. The only way out is the taskmanager and kill the XE2...

I'm using XE2 with SP3.

It would be nice to have corrected this soon...

We will fix this problem in the next IBDAC build.

We plan to release new builds of all DAC components as soon as RAD Studio XE2 Update 4 is released. This way, we will be able to provide all DAC components compatible with the new update.
