We recommend using IBDAC. IBDAC has many features that make it the best. There are some of these features:
- disconnected mode and failover;
- advanced BLOB support;
- advanced design time editors;
- high performance;
- wide coverage of InterBase and Firebird features.

I've used both components and for many reasons I prefer the IBDAC, including: ease of use, price, speed, etc.

I sincerely recommend the these components.

Dear Sadus,

I'm a register user of FIBPlus. I don't use IBDac. I use SDAC because FIBPlus is only for Interbase/Firebird and recently I must work on project with SQL Server of DB.

This is a link to a list of features supported by FIBPlus.

http://www.devrace.com/en/fibplus/features.php .

note that IBDac doesn't have a support for administrative components, FIBPlus yes. See the link for a details and if you want, download a trial and test it.

If I remember correctly there are support to work with :

- disconnected mode and failover;
- advanced BLOB support;
- advanced design time editors;

Repeat see the list of the feature for details.

For me FIBplus is great product. I use it from 4.8 version and I haven't any types of problems. Now the last version is 6.9.5.

Best regards.

As Sergio pointed out IBDAC don't have any administrative components which is a big disadvantage compared to their competition.

Again I say that IBDac exceeds FIBPlus and are easier to use and cheaper. As administrative components you can use some freeware like UIB components and will have no problem. For me the IBDac are totally superior.

Me too i think that IBDAC is the best :
1. Easy of use ..
2. Agreable design time editors
3. Looks like FibPlus not working well when you compile your application in debug mode with firebird embeded server but IBDAC works.
4. no need to StartTransaction ,Commit,Rollback for every operation you do

From IBDAC features:

"Full support of the latest versions of InterBase, Firebird and Yaffil database servers"

In my mind not having administrative components is not full support.

I did buy IBDAC bc prise is lower than FIBPlus but lately I'm feeling dissapointed by Devart, 2.X releases have been buggy and most common answer to problems seems to be "We can't reproduce the problem".

My subsciption has just run out so I have to renew but if I don't see improvement during next 12 months I have to switch to another package.
