Support for MySQL 8.0 GA

Post by tfrancois » Tue 12 Jun 2018 00:02

Hi there!

MySQL 8.0 has been in GA (General Availability) release and I was wondering when dbForge MySQL is going to have support for it. I can't connect to my MySQL 8 instance even though I've reverted authentication to MySQL 5.7 compatible mysql_native_password. My other MySQI GUI utiltiies connect just fine once I made the authentication mode switch but dbForge pops up a message saying that MySQL 8 is not supported. I'm guessing it is not even trying to connect, it simply aborts once it detects what version of MySQL I'm running. Any word Devart support admins?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thank you for the update and I have downloaded the latest release with support for MySQL 8.0 and noticed that the typeahead/code completion doesn't yet support the new JSON functions: JSON_OBJECTAGG and JSON_ARRAYAGG. Was this just an oversight or, respectfully, is there a specific reason why it was omitted? Thank you for Devart's quick response and release of this update for MySQL 8.0 support.

We will fix this issue in one of the next product builds and will notify you once it's available for downloading.
