Hello,

I'm using the trial for dbForge Studio for MySQL for about a week. It runs for a while and then I keep getting an error that says "dbForge Studio has stopped working" and the program crashes. I have it installed on a Windows 10 machine. I checked the event viewer and found the application error listed below. Anyone have any ideas?

We will investigate this issue and will answer you as soon as possible.

We went ahead and bought a license yesterday. I uninstalled the trial and installed the licensed pro version. It ran for about 6 hours and crashed. Today it was running about 4 hours before it crashed. The message in the event viewer looks like the same message that I posted earlier.

Just wanted to let you know that I uninstalled and reinstalled and I'm still seeing the problem. Everything works great otherwise. I'm happy with the program, hopefully we can figure out this problem.

This issue, in fact, is not related to dbForge.

So the only application on my machine that is crashing is dbForge and the issue is "in fact" not related to dbForge? Not caused by dbForge, okay, but I don't see how it can't be related.

So can you explain how the link to someone having a problem with their backups in Windows Server 2016 gives me a direction as to what my problem is with dbForge crashing on Windows 10? How do I troubleshoot this?

If I run vssadmin list writers it lists 12 writers all with state of "Stable" and last error of "No error". If you are suggesting I have missing VSS writers, how do I find them? Which writer would be effecting dbForge?

Will it be possible to try running dbForge on another machine or operating system?

I don't easily have access to another machine at the moment.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

For View Install Updates, trying to add an image but I don't know if it will work.

1. Do you have an antivirus? If so, please let us know which one. Is dbForge added in the exceptions list of the antivirus?
2. What other applications are running in the system?
3. Is your Windows operating system of x32 or x64?
4. What actions do you perform in dbForge before the error pops up?

1. Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus. It has not been added as an exception.

2. Normally I have these applications running with dbForge
- Visual Studio Professional 2015
- Outlook 2013
- Chrome and/or Microsoft Edge
- Notepad++

4. Normally I'm not doing anything in dbForge. I have dbForge and Visual Studio open most of the day and bounce back and forth between them. When I have something DB related to do, I switch to dbForge. When I have something application related, I switch to Visual Studio. When dbForge has crashed it is usually open and running but I'm working in Visual Studio at the time.

Could you please try adding dbForge into the exceptions list of the antivirus or turning off it while working with dbForge?

I don't have access to the exception list. I'll see if I can get that added.

I absolutely will not run without anti virus. If dbForge requires that it be run without anti virus then we have a problem.

I have a very similar issue with dbForge. it crash randomly. My Windows 10 is a recently fresh installation.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

I am experience the same problem as OP author, randomly crash from time to time, with same error. This error start appearing after upgrade to windows 10 anniversary upgrade(1607), before this update everything was fine. Now I have latest windows 10 production build with all latest updates installed.

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise Build 14393.639
Anti virus: McAfee
