Hi,

I keep trying to connect to a remote database server and it does not seem to be working.

I type in the
Host
Port
User
Password

However, I keep getting an error:

Lost Connection to MySQL Server during Query.

Looked it up and suggested it is timing out, however our phone system can connect to this quickly as, I can RDP to the server and connect. Also, tried increasing time out length up to 30 seconds. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I usually work in MSSQL and new to MySQL but need to pull reports from the database in MySQL.

On the 'Advanced' tab of the Database Connection Properties dialog box for the connection please try to select the 'Keep connection alive' option and set the 'Ping timeout' field to the value less than the value of the 'wait_timeout' variable but greater than 0.
