BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
Hi Guys,
After the new upgrade to 6.2.233 (Pro edition) I have found that Syntax auto-complete tends to stop working after some time.
I work on a laptop over wifi and I often put my machine to sleep and wake it up throughout the day (I need to do this for dual monitors to recognize correctly when I take it on and off my dock). I have found that in this new version, the Syntax auto-complete feature seems to stop working after some time of this *sleep > wake-up > sleep > wake-up* process (this would be the feature that auto-predicts the names of tables/functions/variables, etc. as you begin typing a query).
This worked in the previous version all the time, but I've noticed it has stopped working in this new version.
This is a real pain as I will put my machine to sleep the night before with a great deal of queries open, and when I come in the next day all of them fail to provide auto-complete responses when I begin typing.
If I open a new instance of dbForge, they work just fine in the new instance only. But I then have to save and close everything from the old instance and re-open them in the new instances (then do this all again the next day! :-S).
Hopefully you guys can get to the bottom of this!
I'd be happy to provide any further information you may need.
Thanks,
-ES

Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
We were not able to reproduce this issue. Please try upgrading to the latest build 6.2.280 http://www.devart.com/dbforge/mysql/stu ... nload.html
Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
I have upgraded to 6.2.280. This did not fix the issue.
I put my machine to sleep and took my laptop home for the night, but did not wake it up until I was back to work this morning.
An instance of DBForge was open when I put the machine to sleep last night.
Coming in this morning, I test in this instance in an existing query tab by typing "select * from c" (usually it would suggest "companies" as I type the letter "c"), and I get nothing.
I closed the connection to that particular database and re-opened. Open a new SQL query tab,
retype "select * from c" and still no auto-complete list-box appears.
Opening a new instance of DBForge application is the only way I can get this working again.
Hope that helps in trouble-shooting.

Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
To try to replicate this issue, try leaving an instance of dbForge open on your machine and put the machine into Hibernate mode for at least 12 hours over night.
It seems that's usually what it takes for this issue to crop up for me anyways.

Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
Unfortunately, we can't suggest you anything other than to open a new instance of DBForge after putting the PC into Sleep or Hibernate mode.
Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
I am happy to report this bug has been resolved as of the 6.3.323 release.
Thank you guys!
Love the new GUI improvements too. Keep up the great work

Thank you for updating us on this issue. Please let us know if any questions arise.
Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
I've checked the logs and it seems avast Sandbox was triggered every time dbForge tried to run the update process (as far as I can see there are some external tools invoked which do this).
And that's one of the odd things about dbForge. From the very first time I used it every install/uninstall/upgrade process triggered avast Sandbox which is something that happens almost exclusively when avast thinks there is something really suspicious. The previous manual upgrades did trigger sandbox but the upgrade process never broke with so much fireworks

That must be a false-positive detection. We recommend you to report this issue to Avast so they can update the antivirus databases accordingly.
You could disable the antivirus while installing dbForge or to add it to the antivirus's exception list.
We do confirm that the files downloaded from our website do not contain any malware, so you can run the files downloaded from the websites with no risk.

Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
We are having this issue with the Enterprise version on Windows 10. Is anyone else having autocomplete issues, too? It works for a time after you restart and then just quits at random intervals. Closing the software does not fix the issue. However, restarting the computer generally does.
Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
Could you please specify what version of dbForge you are using and perform the following:
1. Start dbForge Studio for MySQL.
2. Select 'Tools -> Options...' from the main menu. The 'Options' window opens.
3. Navigate to the 'Environment -> Output' branch.
4. Select the 'Write queries sent by the program to the SQL Log' and 'Log application errors' options.
5. Unselect the 'Delete application log after closing' option. Click 'OK'.
6. Reproduce the issue and send us a *.log file with the latest date from the directory
A video demonstrating the issue would be also of help.

Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
We have Enterprise version for SQL Server version 5.2.177 (not MYSQL)...we are having the issue on Windows 8, Windows 10, and sometimes Windows 7 intermittently. We will change the settings and send logs tomorrow.
Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
We will be looking forward to your reply.

Log sent to support. Sorry for the delay.
Re: BUG - Syntax Auto Complete Stops Working in New Version (6.2.233)
Thank you for the reply.
Could you please also let us know at what moment exactly it happens? A video demonstrating the issue would be also of help.
Is the code completion list missing some objects or it doesn't popup at all?
Additionally, please check that the 'Enable Code Completion' option is enabled in the 'Text Editor -> Code Completion -> General' section of the 'Options' window that can be invoked by selecting 'Tools -> Options...' from the main menu.
