Slow SSH Refresh
Posted: Fri 07 Feb 2014 18:25
Hello -
Just found dbForge Studio and testing it out. Looks great so far.
I did find a problem, and it might be my configuration, but here it is -
At first I didn't know that dbForge could directly connect to my SSH on Linux (Mint 15 with OpenSSH). So I used Putty to SSH tunnel for the connection and it works great!
Then found the option in the Database Connection Properties and gave it a try (very cool that it has it). Seems to work OK, connects, and looks like it's working OK, except that to refresh or load table data it is really slow. Table size is really tiny, maybe 30 records of simple data. When I hit refresh it take close to 8 seconds to refresh the data, it works fine but slow.
If I use the other connection to the same database via Putty SSH tunnel it's almost instant when I refresh the data view.
Any other configuration items I should check. I hate to start putty every time I use the tool...
Sandy
Below are my settings on the Database Connection Properties are as such -
General Tab
Host: localhost
Port: 3306
user: XXX
password :XXX
Advanced Tab
Detect MySQL character set : checked
Keep Connection Alive : checked and set to 240 seconds
Security Tab
Use Security Protocol : checked
SSH : selected
Password Authentication: elected
Host : 10.0.0.10
port : 22
Test Connection works.
