It looks like the tool does not support UTF-8. If I do a query that returns UTF-8 data, I just get ????s. am I missing a setting somewhere? I get the proper foreign characters in the MySQL Query Browser

Nevermind, I found it. It is an advanced property of the connection.

This is an awesome tool! Much better than the MySQL equivalent.
