Tell me the trick to get connected to my hosted MySql Database?

Post by NewGuy » Tue 30 Apr 2013 22:37

Seemed like an easy enough task to connect to my hosted remote database and use these tools to build my queries. I guess not. Can anyone tell me the trick to get connected to my hosted MySql Database?

Please refer to the 'Simple Connection' video at: http://www.devart.com/dbforge/mysql/studio/demos.html and the 'How To: Connect to a Database' topic in the product's Help documentation.

Same problem. Those help articles, are more tutorials on how to type things in boxes, than they are as useful for solving connection issues. i.e. Zero help!!

Think I've tried just about every combination at this stage and still can't login. Weirdly enough, Dreamweaver, Eclipse and my seperate FTP tool seem to have absolutely no issue at all using exactly the same info I supplied to this app. They authenticate with no problem and show me a nice list of tables.

I do not understand why this one doesn't. Actual help would be appreciated.

Could you please tells us what host you are trying to connect to and provide us screenshots of all the tabs of the 'Database Connection Properties' dialog box (right-click the connection in Database Explorer and select 'Modify Connection' from the popup menu)?
