Data view: grouping by column

Hello,
in the data view for an SQL table, it is possible to drag a column header to a top row to group the data by this column. Unfortunately, doing so removes the column in the data view.
The problem is that, when inserting a new row, it is not possible to enter a value for this column. If the column has no default value, it is impossible to insert a row in this case.

I think it is by design, but don't you think that my remark has a sense and that should be an enhancement to the product?
Or is it that the Grid View that you are using does not permit this?

It appears to change such behavior will take time and we came to the conclusion that it will not worth its usefulness.
