Where are connection settings stored?

Post by Rendrag » Thu 20 Sep 2012 06:27

Hi Folks,

So I reinstalled my work PC yesterday (after taking a full backup), and am now looking at my dbForge connections list, thinking 'oh lord, I don't want to re-add all 40 connections!'. Are the connections saved anywhere that I can copy out of my backup? :)

Thanks,

Damien

The connection list can be exported to a *.reg file as follows:

1. Open the the registry editor.
2. Select the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Devart\dbForge Common Settings\Connections\MySQL' branch.
3. Select 'File -> Export' from the main menu and save the connection list to a *.reg file.

You will be then able to import the previously saved connection list from the *.reg file.

Bugger, so that's a no :( I've never understood apps that store stuff in the registry, config files are so much more useful from a backup/restore perspective.

Thanks anyway! :)

We already have such a suggestion on our UserVoice forum and voted for it on your behalf. Please note that we are going to change this functionality in one of the next versions of the product:
