Command line tutorial, please....

Post by Salsajay » Thu 20 Jan 2011 12:17

Hola 8),

I am a absolute beginner with this, and I need an example of how I schedule my backups in windows 7 task scheduler.

I've saved my backup project, with the backup wizard.
Now I want to use this.

Manny thanks

Jay Kersten :)

To get help on backup usage from the command line, you should type "\dbforgemysql.com /backup /?"

More information is available in the following topic in our blog:

Hola again,

I use the following in my CMD file:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Devart\dbForge Studio for MySQL\dbforgemysql.com" /backup /projectfile:"c:\Gebruikers\JayKersten\Mijn documenten\dbForge Studio for MySQL\salsa4fun_inschrijvingen.backup

But it is not working!....
What's wrong here?

Is it an idea for no,no's like myself, to put a wizard in the program that makes this cmd or bat file?

Jay Kersten :D

You've missed quote character (") in your example of the command line after your backup file name.

As for your suggestion about the button that can generate the command line for backup, we'll consider implementing it in one of the next versions of dbForge Studio for MySQL.

Hola Alexz,

It works and it puts a very big smile on my face!
Yes, my provider makes backups to! but it feels very good to have my own now scheduled every day!!! :D

I hope you guys can put the wizard for these kind of things in the next version.

thanks again,

Jay Kersten
