empty Summary Window

Post by jfricke » Mon 10 Jan 2011 14:07

Hello,

when I try to get a Summary Window about i.e. table objects this window will be always empty. Just the message "No summary information is available" will be shown. I'm connected to the database with root rights. Is there something I have to configure to use summary windows? The "Connection" dropdown field on the toolbar associated with the summary window is empty and I can't select one of my configured connections.

I tried to open a summary window as described on the help topic, but this doesn't work :?

I use the latest version of dbforge for MySQL 4.50.316

Best regards,

Jens

First of all, I must say that Summary Window is a passive window. For example, connection cannot be opened using it. Summary Window is always connected with Database Explorer and reacts on selections made in it.
"No summary information is available" message is shown when Summary Window doesn't have any information to display. For example, such situation occurs when current connection is closed or multiple objects are selected in Database Explorer.
So, can you please answer our questions:
- Is your current connection in Database Explorer opened or closed?
- Have you selected single or several objects in Database Explorer?

Hello Alexz,

there is something strange:

My workstation has two monitors connected. If I use dbforge on my primary monitor everything is working as expected (the Summary Window shows the expected information). If I use it on the secondary monitor the behavior of the Summary Window is as described on my first posting.

I would say, this is a dbforge bug. So as workaround I will use dbforge only on my primary monitor.

Thank you for the detailed description of this problem. Yes, you are right, this is a bug.
It is not necessary to move Summary Window to the secondary monitor. The problem will be reproduced when you work with float dockable Summary Window.
We'll investigate this bug and report you about the results of our investigation as soon as possible.

We fixed this problem.
Please, download the new build of dbForge Studio for MySQL v4.50.321.
