Question:files encoding.

Post by zinger_der_god » Thu 05 Jul 2012 09:35

Good day.
First of all - must admit that your software has great features, that noone else has. I worked with everything ou can imagine. I even have my own sql editor with ado drivers that connects to anything(was inspired by your unidacs ;) )... But things like multiconnection pool, that allows to shift scripts from env to env by just one click - great...
Comparision tools - best I've found... Yesterday - system with 300+ tables and 100+ packages - compared and synched within 6 hours... Very good.
There are some small things, that are not working "perfectly", but in the end - great software.
And I'd like to thank you guys for creating this piece of art.

As for my little problem:
I am using free russia release of your software. Mostly because I'm russian, and I work in University :) Which means - no money...

And I'm verry happy with this tool, except this little bugging thing:
When I save my sql\plsql\anything files, it sets encoding to cp1251. And ofcource, as a programmer with some UTF-chars experience - I always keep my files as UTF.So I have to change it every time I save it...
That's the question:
Can I somehow set this encoding to be UTF-8 by default?

Sincerely me.

Such a functionality is currently not implemented. However, we will review this case when developing next versions of the product.
