License not valid (code: 7)

Post by Ulf » Wed 02 Mar 2011 09:06

I am using dotConnect for MySQL (and have been for several years now).
I am currently using version 5.0.22.0 and working on a Class Library
which references Devart.Data and Devart.Data.MySql, in MS Visual Studio
2008, with Mercurial source control.

As of this morning I get the following message every time I open a
source file in that project from within MS Visual Studio 2008:
License not valid (code: 7).
If I click Tools -> MySQL -> License information, it says:
dotConnect for MySQL is installed not correctly.
The project has correct licenses.licx file.
The library has a reference to Devart.Data.MySql but cannot check if the library is used by an additional executable.
and a "Fix" button appears. If I click it, it runs the dotConnect
License Wizard and touches/updates my license.licx file, but it does
not change anything in it.

I can not think of anything I have done in the past couple of days
that might have screwed up things for dotConnect.

Any ideas why that error message appears or how I can get rid of it,
will be appreciated.

License not valid

I received this same error after an install of Win7 SP1. Any project utilizing MyDirect .NET (4.85 here) would not load due to "Invalid License" error.

I reinstalled the connector and it seems to have solved the problem.
