Hi,

I just bought a professional version of MyDirect.NET and I'm trying to make it work with Entity Framework Tools Dec 07 & ADO.NET Enitity Framework Beta 3 & VS 2008 RTM.

The problem comes when I try to add to the entity diagram a MySQL database I keep getting "An Error ocurred while connecting to the database. The database may be unavailable. The error message is: "The provider returned schema mapping information that is not valid."

I have tried it with different database even a single table database and I always get this message.

Any clues?

Regards,
Humberto Aicardi

I could not reproduce the error.
Do you have the latest build of MyDirect .NET (v. 4.30.24 20-Dec-07)?
Did you follow the steps specified in Readme.html?
(\Program Files\CoreLab\MyDirect.NET2\Entity\)
Did you try our Entity framework samples?

Using the MySqlEdmWizard supplied worked. I didn't realise we weren't to use the VS2008 tool :)

Will that ever be supported?

What do you mean?
Will Microsoft Visual Studio ever provide support for MySQL databases in its authentic Entity database generator tool? If that is the question, I could hardly reply on it.
Perhaps you should contact the Microsoft Visual Studio support team.

I mean will you ever provide the interfaces required for MS's tool?

Our developers are working on the full Visual Studio 2008 integration.
