Entity Developer 2.00 Released!

Post by Devart » Wed 29 Apr 2009 14:25

Dear users,

Devart team is proud to state that in version 2.0 Entity Developer doubles its power and applicability with support for ADO.NET Entity Framework!

Entity Developer 2.00 now fully replaces standard Microsoft tools and in addition offers a set of advanced new features:
  • Drag & Drop Support
Wide support of drag and drop operations allows to move items from Database explorer to diagram and Project Explorer. You can also move items from Project Explorer to diagram to create conceptual layer entities from the storage ones.

To create Entity Framework Complex Type, new derived entity, or new base entity simply drag properties from the source entity and drop them on the diagram.
  • Support for Entity Framework Storage Model Editing
For the purpose of database modification in accordance with changes in it, the storage layer of your model can be easily and effectively edited. The Defining Query and Command Text command can be used to provide functionality similar to that provided by a database view or a database stored procedure correspondingly.
  • Support for Entity Framework Complex Type
  • Three Types of Inheritance Supported
The three available types of inheritance can be used in your models now.
  • Validation Schema Improved
As smart background validation is executed after model changing, a user can see the actual state. To make a valid model as quickly as possible, invalid objects are marked on the diagram and in Project Explorer and you can easily switch from the error to the entity that caused it.
  • Performance and Usability Improvements
The new Entity Developer is much faster and more flexible then before.
Other improvements in Entity Developer 2.00 include full support for stored procedures in LINQ to SQL, advanced naming rules for database objects, and Visual Studio integration.
