The new build of dbExpress driver for SQL Server 8.0.2 that includes the fix is already available for download.
Please check the operation of this build and let us know the result.

Hi,

I have just managed to pull out 8.0.2 and it compiles fine.

However I am disappointed to report that although the new release has fixed the hyphen in DB name issue we have found another issue which is in 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 and not in older builds

The issue is we are not able to retrieve data from an XML field. The issue is particularly in 8.0.x version of “dbexpsda40.dll”. If we replace an older version DLL this works fine.

We have multiple customers waiting for hyphen issue and we promised to provide a fix last week but due to these issues we are not able to deliver and this is seriously impacting our business. Can you please look into this issue ASAP and let us know the estimate on when exactly we should be expecting a fix?

Regards

Thank you for the information. We've been able to reproduce the issue with the XML fields only in the Direct connection mode, regardless of the driver version. There's no such issue when using MS Native Client. We'll resolve the issue with the XML fields and include the fix in the next build of dbExpress driver for SQL Server.

Cheers

At the moment, we cannot give you an exact date for when the next build of dbExpress driver for SQL Server will be released. We can provide you with a nightly build of dbExpress driver for SQL Server that includes the fix of the issue with XML fields.
To get the build, please send us a request via the e-support form. (devart.com the "Support"\"Request Support" menu).
