Unable to connect using Instant Client on x64

Hello,

we produce tools based on dotConnect. Some of our customers are now reporting timeouts when trying to connect. We have been able to reproduce the problem in the following environment

Windows 7 x64
Oracle Client for x64 installed
Oracle Instant Client for x64 installed (and path set to pick up the instant client)

Attempting to connect with the instant client fails with the error "Error: Server did not respond within the specified timeout interval".

I have verified that this happens with the latest build of dotConnect and happens with the test app "dotConnect for oracle Samples'.

I have also verified that a) a direct connection works fine b) Connecting with the full Oracle client works c) Connecting with the Instant Client after connecting with the Full Client also works!!!

Could you look into this with some urgency as I have customers that are unable to use our tools. Please do not ask me to do anything with the client installations as point c) above indicates that the problem is with devart.

Update:

I am unable to reproduce this problem reliably. For now I am going to conclude that the problem was an intermittent problem with the server we were trying to connect to. If it does happen again I will be back in touch.
