Is OraDirect .Net, Really Direct?

But I test my oracle 8i server,with the last OraDirect .Net 3.01 Mobile using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 and .NET Compact Framework! It throw Exception even run in PC!!OraDirect .NET supports Oracle 10g, 9i, 8i and 8.0, including Personal and Lite editions. The provider works with .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 and .NET Compact Framework
It is true Direct?
I'm doubt it!!
