WF4 InstanceStore for Oracle

Post by Alladin » Tue 25 May 2010 13:52

Hi everyone,

I'm interesting whether anyone beside me needs Workflow Foundation 4 InstanceStore implementation for Oracle...

Does DevArt plan to do something in this direction?

PS. I've successfully ported Microsoft SqlWorkflowInstanceStore implementation to DevArt dotConnect for Oracle suite. I'm thinking about releasing it as open source project, so everyone can contribute.

We will investigate the possibility of supporting InstanceStore in dotConnect for Oracle. We will inform you about the results.

@StanislavK - What sort of timeline? You said pretty much the same thing in your original reply (May 2010). If you're not supporting it in the near future, it'd be helpful to know so that we can make alternate plans for supporting current business needs. Thanks!

At the moment, we cannot provide any timeframe for this feature implementation. We will post here as soon as more information is available.

Hi,

Is there any news about this subject?
I was looking for that solution so that I can bind my oracle db to the workflow persistence.

Greetings,
Bruno

We will post here as soon as the status of this feature changes. We are working on it, but cannot provide any timeframe.

At the moment, we can only suggest implementing your own Instance Store class for Oracle. For information on how to do it, please refer to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee829481.aspx

Also, you can create a Persistence Service class for WF 3.0/3.5 based on the sample in the following discussion:

+1 InstanceStore

We also are looking for an implementation of InstanceStore for Oracle.
If there is an implementation (opensource or closedsource), we would like to use it, and we are willing to fund it. It simply makes no sense that everyone builds his own.

@Alladin: have you already published your work?

The Instance Store implementation for Oracle is available in the latest versions of dotConnect for Oracle. You can evaluate dotConnect for Oracle Professional to try Oracle Instance Store:
http://www.devart.com/dotconnect/oracle/download.html
(please use the dotConnect for Oracle 6.30 Professional Trial download).
