could someone confirm the dotconnect mobile when used in vb.net compact framework that will connect ok to oracle through a wi fi access point into LAN where oracle server 8i installed.

You can do that. We recommend you to try dotConnect for Oracle Mobile Trial that can be downloaded from here. By default, our installation package puts our samples to \Program Files\Devart\dotConnect Mobile\Oracle\Samples. If you encounter any difficulties, please tell us the exact text of the error and the steps we should follow to reproduce the problem.
