Hello,
I've seen in the product page that OraDirect .NET is compatible with RAD Studio 2007.
After installation, I did not found the component palette for CoreLab. I also had to manually browse to the assemblies in order to have them listed in the installed .NET components in RAD Studio.
Could you tell me if you are aware of any problem related to installation and integration with RAD Studio 2007 ?
We have to decide right soon to start new developments with RAD Studio and CoreLab and we have to know any issue concerning compatibility.
Thank you.

Forgot to say the we would like to create "package" type projects (class libraries usable with Visual Studio 2005 projects).

Could you please specify for what elements of the project you would like to use the designer?
There is no Form designer available for this type of projects.

Hi,
I too find it stange that we need to do the import by our self. I would like to use it for asp.net apps and for vcl.net applications.

Hello,
We would like to use the designer for creating a VCL Form.
Then, with the palette available, we could drag CoreLab components on the form and set their properties from the object inspector.

I suggest you reading about Oracle Data Access Components here:
http://crlab.com/odac/
Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) is a library of components that provides native connectivity to Oracle from Delphi,
Delphi for .NET, C++Builder and Kylix. The ODAC library is designed to help programmers develop faster and cleaner Oracle database applications.

I've read the product info about ODAC and noted that it is a specialized component for Oracle and Delphi IDE like RAD Studio 2007.
I also saw a screenshot with the ODAC component palette in BDS2006.
So I conclude that, though OraDirect .NET can be used when developing with RAD Studio 2007 and Delphi.NET, it is not integrated to that IDE, in particular concerning the components palette.
Instead ODAC is fully integrated with the IDE.
The point is that we thought to use OraDirect .NET for both C# VS2005 and Delphi.NET RAD Studio 2007 developments.
Our developers thought to find a OraDirect components palette available in RAD Studio 2007 and this is not the case. They have to use this component programmatically instead.
Thank you for your help.

OraDirect .NET uses managed code
and it is not possible to embed its components into the forms designer.
Comparatively to Visual Studio 2005, there is no such designer available in RAD Studio 2007.
