I just updated ODAC and recompiled my project.
Now when I try to connect I got:
ORA-01016: invalid username/password; logon denied.
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied.

I then created an new vcl project and put OraSession on the form and opened the session editor.
Filled out the form for a direct connection it fails.
I'm trying to connect to my Oracle 12.1.0.2 db

So after the upgrade to ODAC 10.0.1 the following direct connection work/fail:
12.2.0.1 works
12.1.0.2 fails (I have a group of 4 db's on solaris 2xdev, 1xtest and 1xprod that all fail the same way)
12.1.0.2 works (dev running on windows)
12.1.0.1 works
11.2.0.3 works
11.1.0.7 works
10.2.0.5 works
10.2.0.3 works x2 db's
10.1.0.2 works

I downgraded ODAC to 9.7.28 everything works as usual with direct connection except to the new 12.2.0.1 db with ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol

All connections thought tns oracle client(oci) work

Tested with ODAC on 32/64bit 10.1 Berlin and 10.2 Tokyo

Thank you for the information. We will investigate this problem. Oracle 12.2.0.1 support will appear only in ODAC 10.0.1 version, therefore you get an error message when trying to connect to Oracle 12.2.0.1 server using the previous ODAC version. Please specify whether it was possible to establish a connection to the server 12.1.0.2 on the Solaris platform in Direct Mode using ODAC 9.7.28. Probably when working with the server on the Solaris platform you are using some specific encryption. Currently we do not have a possibility to check this behavior directly on Solaris platform. Please let us know whether you can provide a remote connection to your server under any Oracle user with limited rights.

I've not had any trouble connecting to these 4 db's on solaris using direct connection on previous ODAC version for the last years except with version 9.6.22 (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=33408&p=115506#p115506)
But you guys fixed that bug.

I sent to your support an email containing wireshark information when I try to connect that might help you find out what's going on.

We have reproduced the problem and fixed the bug. The fix will be included in the next ODAC build. Currently, we can send you a night build of ODAC with the fix. For this, please specify your license number and the exact version of Delphi you are using via the e-support form ( https://www.devart.com menu "Support"\"Request Support" )
