While I am comparing a file, I might want to make a note about the file name, line number, and selected text. I do something like this with Beyond Compare by using the "Open With" settings feature.
In Code Compare, how can I use a key command or tool bar button to send file name, line number, and selected text to an external program?

Frank
Send filename/line to external program?
Re: Send filename/line to external program?
Do you mean comparison file transfer to third-party applications?
Re: Send filename/line to external program?
I do not want to transfer a file to an application.
While using Code Compare, if I see a difference that I want to note, I would like the ability to send (using a key combination) information about that difference to an application.
The information would include the name of the file, the line number of the difference, and if any text is selected, the selected text.
Example:
c:/projectA/file1.cpp, 45, "selected text example"
I hope this answers your question.
Regards,
Frank

Unfortunately, Code Compare does not have such functionality.
Please describe your suggestion in more details at our UserVoice. It would be highly appreciated, if you describe your use-case, that allows other people to clearly understand what the feature suits for:

If it receives enough votes, we will implement it in one of the next versions.
