SQL Complete and SQL 2008 R2

Post by wfsharon » Tue 14 Nov 2017 18:09

We have been using SQL Complete in our SSMS 2008 environment for many years and loving it.
We were recently upgraded to V5.7.206 running in SMSS 2016. The problem now is that we still do a lot of work in 2008 R2 DBs and the code completion and other nice functionality stops working when it encounters a 2008 DB.

Is this by design?

We are gradually moving to a total SQL 201x environment, but until that happens we will a foot in both worlds. Is there a different licensing for this situation?

If not, our company has spent a lot of money and time on an upgrade that is not useful (not to mention that the install process removed the version that worked great in SSMS 2008!).

We had to stop supporting SSMS2008R2 since it is based on the old version of .Net which significantly complicated development of the new functionality.
