Export and Import Utility

Post by polsol » Thu 25 Sep 2008 15:56

Trying to use the 'Import & Export Utilities -> Export' I get the message 'EXP.EXE' not found.
This occurs with both my registered Ora Tools and the trial Ora Studio (which I recently downloaded).

Comments?

Provide us with some information:
- What version of Oracle client do you use?
- Can you find exp.exe utility in the "bin" subdirectory of Oracle client home directory?

Hi ALexz,

OK, so your tools are using the Oracle Client installation EXP.EXE.

Didn't realiise that. Thought it might have been an 'add-on' in your tools.

Right now I'm using the Basic-Lite version of InstantClient because I'm using a laptop running Vista Home Premium. The normal Oracle Client will not install on this OS.

Have also just checked the Basic version of InstantClient - also no EXP.EXE.

Seems like a 'dead end'.

There is another way to export your metadata or data in OraDeveloper - Schema Export wizard.
You can find it in main menu "Database->Schema Export.." or get it from Database Explorer by popup menu for Connection or database nodes.
