Visual Studio Standard vs. Pro - compatibility with MySqlDirect

Post by Cody21 » Sat 03 Mar 2007 17:57

Just ran across this post:

Alexey, you state that "Microsoft Web Developer 2005 Express edition does not allow to work with toolbox at all. Also Express editions don't support extensions. So you need Visual Studio Professional Edition to fully integrate MySQLDirect.NET into it."

Is that TRUE? that MySqlDirect will NOT integrate with the Standard Edition of Visual Studio 2005 ???? Ugh ... this just continues to get more and more complicated. I just made an eBay bid on Visual Studio 2005 STANDARD Edition in an attempt to try to get the standard MySql data binding drop-downs in DataSource selection... 1 step forwward, 5 steps backward.

First of all, I didn't say Standard edition of VS has same restrictions as Express one.
Second, we have fixed problem with Standard edition of Visual Studio in September 2006 (after that post was made).
