if i'm doing 10-20 long running inserts - i get a lost connection error.

is this due to the wait_timeout? it's set to 28,800 right now (8 minutes?)

I searched the forums for a while - but i don't see an exact solution.

Check 'max_allowed_packet' value in 'my.ini' file.
We recommend to use 167772160

You can also check the MySqlCommand.CommandTimeout property.
