Session provider - ApplicationName question

Greetings,

Attempting to assign a specific ApplicationName to the SessionState provider in the web.config file incurs the error "The relative virtual path '' is not allowed here.". Is this as expected?

Please post the fragment of your web.config file where SessionState provider is declared.

Please describe the problem in detail. Your code doesn't produce any error. When do you get one?
And why did you ask about Session provider in the first post?

Sorry, gave you the wrong config snippet. Try the bit below - as soon as I attempt to bring up the site I get the error as reported.
