This model has been modified outside of the editor

Post by hepek » Tue 16 Oct 2012 18:17

Every time I open Context Diagram and change anything(even if I simply click on Navigation Properties) I get this dialog:

"This model has been modified outside of the editor.
Do you want to reload it?"

If I choose YES I lose the change I just made. I have version 6.7.0

1. Please make sure that other model files (*.lqml, *.edps) are not opened with XML Editor in your project at the same time.
2. Try using the latest (7.2.104 18-Oct-12) build of dotConnect for Oracle. Does the problem persist with it as well?

1. No other models are opened at the same time.

2. I am unable to switch to 7.2 version yet, since we have a big team of developers and big app. this would require a lot of testing.

Note that I had this problem even with previous versions. Not only myself, all other members of my team have the same problem. I can't believe that other users did not complain about this.

thank you

Are you using TFS? The bug with generating the "This model has been modified outside of the editor. Do you want to reload it?" error when Entity Developer is integrated into TFS was fixed starting from the 7.1.58 version of dotConnect for Oracle: http://www.devart.com/dotconnect/oracle ... story.html.

yes, I am using TFS.

It looks like I must switch to a newer version of dotConnect.

thank you for your input.
