error when using umlauts(ÄÖ) in the user name

Post by slaxman » Thu 17 Nov 2011 23:34

When I use a umlauts(ÄÖ) in a username, devart in direct mode fails to connect. The user was created in a 'german' setup. Setting 'Unicode=true' in the conn. string is not helping. Is this supported in Direct mode? I am guessing it'd work in OCI mode.

thanks

This is a known issue. We are working on it, but cannot provide any timeframe at the moment. We will inform you about the results as soon as possible.

We have implemented the possibility of connecting as a user with a Unicode name in the Direct mode. This change is available in the latest 6.70.311 build of dotConnect for Oracle. The new build can be downloaded from
http://www.devart.com/dotconnect/oracle/download.html
(the trial version) or from Registered Users' Area (for users with active subscription only).
