MSL Shorthand in Mapping Details

Post by Will Smith » Thu 28 Feb 2008 06:52

After using the EDM Wizard to generate my edmx, I attempt to look at the mapping details of one of the generated entities. A message is displayed in the window instead:
It appears that this mapping has been edited outside of the designer. The Entity's MSL uses short-hand notation, which is not supported by the desinger
I know I don't really need to see the mapping details (because they are correct), but I think it would be better to support as many of the "visual" tools as possible.

Just my two cents. I don't want to sound like I am complaining. You guys are doing a great job. I know there are a lot of people interested in your work. Keep the updates coming.

Cheers,
Will

Thank you for your suggestion.
As you may have known Entity Framework is still in its beta stage.
Currently we support major functionality.
We'll greatly improve Visual Studio 2008 DDEX and Entity Framework interaction in the next build, which is planned to issue in three weeks.
We greatly appreciate your enthusiasm and eagerness to help us in improving our products.
